Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale plays American professional basketball athlete with the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to her being picked by the Wings with the fifth overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2 1997, was the daughter of Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. There are two brothers: Mario (26 years aged) and Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). Being the youngest of her siblings, she was the most spoilt from her family. Gregory was her father. He was a member of the Nigerian Army quite a while. Ogunbowale is from a very active lineage of family members. Her brother Dare is a professional footballer and her mother Yolanda was a softball player at DePaul. The cousin Endia Olive is also a volleyball player on the field at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was honored on the honor roll for her school for three consecutive years. Apart from her fame, she has received numerous honors during her schooling. Arike completed her studies at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in her hometown. She participated in three games of the varsity league as she enrolled in school. Ogunbowale helped her school win impressive victories using her outstanding ability to score multiple times. Over her high school career she's scored 1,477 points, with 739 rebounds. Ogunbowale was awarded Gold Medals at the 2013 U16 FIBA Americas championships in 2014, the FIBA U17 World Championships, and the 2013 3x3 Championships of FIBA. In July 7, 2014, she was named for the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was also selected for the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first ever collegiate experience. The coach even thanked Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant after she hit various big shots in the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale despite being an absolute newcomer to the basketball game, has already established herself as a star. She will surely keep her status in the game.
